When you’re not on the job, there really is no need to wear a formal briefcase. It may be considered too over the top. So I’ve come up with my list of best canvas briefcases for men, to appease the times of leisure and casual travel.

It has enough inside and outside pockets to keep your things organized, including a dedicated section for up to 15” laptops. It’s the type of bag that you would bring with you as you sail away into the sunset.

6) Otium 30311

The short leather flapover and stitched on leather supports under the buckles, gives the Otium 30311 an unusual but appealing look.
Around the back is a medium sized zip compartment, and there’s adequate space inside to fit A4 documents along with a 14” laptop.
It comes in two colors – Khaki and army green, both presenting a vintage style.

5) Canyon Canvas

The Canyon Canvas briefcase is one of the more modern looking styles within this category. It features a sand type color, and a brown synthetic leather lining.
There’s a large quick access zip pocket to the back, and a multitude of compartments and pockets inside. There’s even a clever side zip pocket to access your items that would normally be kept in the front compartment.
Looks-wise it’s the perfect bag for a safari expedition, but great for any travel situation.

4) Retro Canvas

Go old school with this simple but stylish retro canvas briefcase. It has a leather flapover and reinforced sides and bottom, as well as the handle. Sturdy brass hardware is seen throughout, and compliments the rest of the bag.
Beneath the flap, you’ll find two small pockets at the front, and a large compartment to house your 14” laptop and A4 size documents. There’s also five colors to choose from – Army green, coffee, green, khaki and my favorite, dark grey.

3) Kattee Canvas

The Kattee Canvas has a more elegant style when compared to other canvas briefcases. The fabric is top quality and so is the soft cow leather seen on the bottom sides and flapover.
The metal latches that hold the straps is unique and minimalistic. On the back, there’s a large zip pocket for all your items that you need quick access to, and inside has a large main compartment with several pockets within.
Cool and classy is how I would describe this briefcase.

2) Otium 21108

Here’s another retro style canvas briefcase, that epitomizes the classic look. The Otium 21108 features high quality crazy horse leather on high density canvas, and brass hardware.
It has a large back pocket that is secure by a button. The flapover reveals two small pockets at the front and a zipped main compartment with several small pockets inside. Craftsmanship on this is nothing short of exceptional.

Drum roll please….and the number one canvas briefcase for men on my list is the multifaceted Otium 20319. It’s casual enough for holiday and formal enough for work.
The bag is constructed of thick, durable canvas with a leather type lining and support frames. Zippers have loop pulls for easy handling and the handles are double rolled for added support.
There’s a medium zip compartment at the back, and two zip pockets adjacent to each other to the front. The main compartment features a divider with several open pockets on one side, and an open spacious area on the other.
You can fit up to 14” laptops and A4 size paperwork inside, and it looks great regardless of whether you wear it over your shoulder or carrying it by hand.
